Blue cloth binding with thin blind stamped borders on front and rear, small gilt title on spine, gilt top edge. Binding is firm and fully intact; light wear to edges of boards, gilt title remains bright and bold; text very good throughout, gilt top edge relatively free of blemish. The Chevalier De Pontgibauld, Charles Albert More, served as Lafayette's aid-de-camp in the American Revolutionary War. His memoir also details his return to Europe and experiences during the French Revolution, and his 1893 return to America to collect $10,000 in back pay.
