Other. Condizione: Very Good-. Illustrated by Bill Layne (illustratore). Color Illustrations; This is a promotional calendar for 1951 illustrated by Bill Lanyne. Unfortunately, the portion with the original promotor information has been cut off from the bottom edge of the rear cover. The covers have edge wear, some nicking and several small edge tears to the bottom. The inner pages are generally clean, though the pages have some beginning generalized toning. The previous owner has noted a few notations on the memoranda lines at the bottom edges of the calendar pages, especially weather notations on "a number of the days. Born in Berkeley, California Bill Layne received his art training at the California School of Fine Artrs in San Francisco. His commercial art career began in a display studio in Chicago. Three years later he came back to California and joined the background department of the Walt Disney Studio. After several years he left the studiio to return to free-lance commercial art. These years were spent in doing illustrations for calenders (Layne estimates he painted at least 650). Later he returned to Disney painting backgrounds for several short subjects and all the animated features including "Sleeping Beauty" through "Robin Hood." " (from Askart).
