In his revisions, Richard Kirkham reflects the many changes in the construction industry in the past eight years: procurement is given prominence early in the book; the changing role of the quantity surveyor and building economist is discussed, as is the crucial role they assume throughout the project life cycle. He emphasises the importance of early and collaborative working in the design team, as well as the impact of whole life-cycle costing. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
