Three scarce and remarkable calendar-style portfolios, each containing 12 large images and a page of background information (in German, English, and French). The 1975 "Minnesinger" portfolio contains 12 remarkable paintings from the famous Manesse collection (compiled between 1300 & 1330), showing knightly activities and courtly life, chivalry and courtly love. The 1976 "Gothic Sculpture in Wood" portfolio aptly represents, in 12 photographs, the German styles of wood carving from the 14th to 16th centuries, most examples associated with the Church, but also from the secular crafts guilds. The 1977 "Baroque Sculpture" portfolio represents a continuation of the German wood-carving tradition, through the 17th and 18th centuries, and reflecting the general differences between visual arts aesthetics in the German Renaissance and Baroque eras, as seen in its 12 striking examples. CONDITION: 1975 - cover and interior in Fine condition, with minimal shelf-wear. 1976 - covers and artwork all in Fine condition, with minimal shelf-wear, but the bottom of the fold-down text page shows water incursion (the faint rippled stain not compromising any text material, however). 1977 - cover and interior in Fine condition (though there is a slight waver in the tipped-in cover art-work), with minimal shelf-wear.
