Near fine photo album with fine photographs in a very good box with some tears on the corners. A photo album kept by an Oakland, California woman, Eleanor Drahos beginning in 1929 through 1940. The album is also held in its original box which has some splits on the side and notes written by Drahos including her addresses in Colorado and California. The album begins with autograph pages of Drahos' friends and family with names, addresses, and notes to Drahos. Following this Drahos is seen with his friends visiting Denver, Colorado in the summer of 1929. The girls are seen in sailor dresses with the caption "Job's Daughter Yachting Party" as well as photos of the women in dresses for a garden party. Many of the photos are taken at Geneva Glen Camp in Indian Hills, Colorado and Drahos returned most summers seen throughout the album. The camp began in 1922 and their mission was "to develop character, values and leadership, nurtured by a camp family that thrives on its diversity, friendships and meaningful traditions." In these photos women are seen participating in camp activities, wearing pants, and performing Hiawatha including posing with a bow and arrow. One photo of a woman in a sweater and pants at the camp reads, "a gent was seldom seen at the Glen especially like this!" Another photo shows a woman in a robe with the caption, "the bathing beauty at the Glen." Most of the photos are of Drahos' female friends with occasional male friends and family. Interspersed throughout the album are photos of her home life in California and places she visited in the state which includes a 1933 trip to Feather River Canyon with a photo of the power house and the rapids in the canyon. Later years show her family posing near a new car and house. Other photos show two girls with rifles going to "rifle club," swimming in the Great Salt Lake, and a Christmas scene. A nice album with extensive captions detailing a young woman's summer trips to Colorado and home life in California.…
