The pages are in a very good condition, with spotting on the front and back inside cover, and end papers. Each page inside has rust where the staples are, this doesn't affect the reading quality of the book. There are black and white pictorial illustrations drawn by Nicolas Bentley. Neat two-line gift inscription "To Captain & Mrs. Strickland January 1942 / The Morning Tea was Grand" on front flyleaf. Edges of text-block a little toned, top edge also lightly dust-marked.
