Bon Hélène Dufau expose une tapisserie monumentale à Galliera et espère la vendre lors de la visite de "la commission de la ville", mais l'accrochage de cette pièce laisse à désirer. "Je pense qu'il n'est rien de mieux que de m'adresser directement à vous au s…ujet de la place qu'occupera ma grande tapisserie actuellement à Galliera. Malgré sa hauteur de 4 mètres, j'ai constaté qu'elle peut très bien se placer dans la salle centrale en la posant à terre, ce qu'elle supporte très bien. A droite ou à gauche de la porte d'entrée de cette salle, il y a 2 panneaux où elle serait très visible[.]. Je me permets, Monsieur, de vous donner toutes ces indications parce que j'ai vu le personnel du Musée embarrassé par les dimensions de ma toile, et disposé à la laisser à part dans la salle des sculptures où elle est fort mal. Il est essentiel pour moi que la commission de la ville puisse bien la juger en vue d'un achat [.]". Le Mercure de France de 1923 signale l'uvre de Dufau en ces termes : "On retrouve, à Galliera, le grand panneau (pour tenture) d'Hélène Dufau, avec sa joliesse un peu précieuse" [p. 214]. "Vous voyez qu'il ne me sera pas possible, avant quelques jours au moins de recevoir à Pélénia Madame Debussy [Emma Debussy, l'épouse du compositeur, qui fit plusieurs séjours à Saint-Jean-de-Luz à partir de 1917]. S…i son séjour à St Jean [de Luz] se prolonge, ce sera avec grand plaisir que je vous ferai signe dès mon retour. Je vais à Paris tâcher de délivrer ma soeur. Je vis en ce moment le point décisif de ma vie. C'est la fin de la course. J'ai trouvé un ferme appui qui peut m'amener au but et nous réunir tous enfin, calmes et heureux à Guéthary. Je suis à demi morte de l'effort que j'ai fait mais si tout reussit, je serai vite remise". Clémentine-Hélène Dufau avait fait construire la Villa Pelenia, à Guéthary, en 1911, non loin de la villa Arnaga d'Edmond Rostand qu'elle décorait.
