The catalogue examines how three Italian painters (Giovanni Boldini, Giuseppe De Nittis, and Federico Zandomeneghi) left Italy for Paris, where their experience of the artistic life transformed their styles and subject matter, and how their work related to the French Impressionist movement, particularly to Degas.
