Includes information on the…early history of Yeshiva University's Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (including a reference to a student strike in 1906 in favor of a wider curriculum than just Talmud) as well as the Jewish Theological Seminary. This study is profusely illustrated with numerous charts (many folding), illustrations, and b/w photographic reproductions. Some age-wear on binding with rubbing along spine and edges. Soiling on covers. 4.5" closed tear on frontispiece map. Minor age-toning along paper margin. Binding in overall fair to good condition; interior in good to very good condition. Alexander M. Dushkin (1890-1976) served as the head of the department of research for the Bureau of Jewish Education.
