"The story of 'Bill's Diary'.is the story of what every small boy is and does, what he would like to be and do.Dwig's Bill is Dwis himself; he is you and I; that is the plain, unvarnished fact, and that is the reason he is certain to find sympathy and understanding and affection among the readers of this book; Bill is every boy, today and yesterday, an essential part of that American scene and that American tradition so dear to us." --from August Derleth's foreword.
