Contemporary binding of half green morocco leather over green cloth boards with 4 raised bands and gilt titles to spine in good condition with rubbing to top & tail of spine and tips and small white flecks to top of back board. Inside light foxing throughout, a few annotations in pencil and a faint aroma of smoke otherwise all pages with top edge gilt in very good condition and tightly bound. For added interest front pastedown has the bookplate of Florence Baillie Grohman, Wife of William Adolf Baillie-Grohman, collector, big game sportsman and fellow author, who co-wrote a number of works with his wife as well as his own writings. Also Florence Baillie Grohman's signature dated '1896' to front free end paper. A nice 2nd edition of this treatise on hunting by D'Yauville, the first huntsman and former commander of the king's hunting, the first edition being published in 1788.
