Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. History of the United States: From the Earliest Discovery of America to the Present Time (Volume II) by E. Benjamin Andrews. Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1912. Book Condition: Very Good -; Original dark blue cloth boards with gilt spine titling. The ink on the boards is affected, possibly by water in some spots (setting a drink cup on the book) while other areas look like there is a lacquer on it. None of it affects their integrity or comes through to the pages. Light surface rubbing and edge wear. Spine slightly darkened but structurally sound. Interior clean with light, even toning. No visible ownership signatures. Hinges solid; binding tight. Frontispiece tissue still intact. Illustrated throughout (650 illustrations and maps stated) (see photos) Printing identification note : Scribner's early 20th century history volumes typically do not state "first edition" explicitly. The 1912 title page date indicates this is a later printing/reissue of the 1894 copyright text rather than a first edition of the original work. Volume II of E. Benjamin Andrews' richly illustrated early 20th-century history of the United States, covering Revolutionary and early national periods with numerous engravings and historical portraits. A substantial decorative cloth edition from Scribner's featuring 650 illustrations and maps.
