Frontis illustrated with a Colour Plate of the finding of Moses, protected by tissue guard. Opposite is a Decorative Red, Black & Gilt Title Page "The Illustrated… National Family Bible". A Printed Title Page follows. The Text is arranged in Double Columns with References in the inner Margins and copious Footnotes. XV/15 preliminary pages including Dr. Eadies Preface, followed by Family Register Pages. Old Testament, 915 Pages. The New Testament has its own Title Page, opposite a Multilingual Page in Red Print, and continues the Pagination to 1203. The Last Section, 59 Pages, individually paginated is a Chronological Index, Biblical Cyclopaedia, Psalms, Paraphrases & Hymns. Handsome Period Black Full-Leather Binding with Ornate Brass Corners and Two ornate Brass Catches (in full working order). Genealogical pages have entries of the Cornish Family of "Brush" from Gulval near Penzance. Blind tooled decoration and a deeply inset central Cross for the Title on front, similar on back. 4 Raised Bands to spine, Gilt Title in 2nd Compartment and Gilt Decoration filling the others. All Page Edges Gilt. 13" Tall. Slight edge wear around spine. No inscriptions except the genealogical entries. Heavy Bible, weighs over 5 Kilos so Shipping outside UK will be extra.

Illustrated throughout with many engraved Plates and Coloured Maps. showing Natural History, Scenes from the Holy Land, Biblical Scenes, Coins etc. After the Old Testament and the New Testament come a Chronological Index; Names; Weights & Measures and a Concise Biblical Cyclopaedia: a Dictionary of Sacred Biography, Natural History, Ancient Geography, Eastern Antiquities and Theology. 13 3/4" Tall. Some wear to leather (see photo), mainly around spine whichj has a tiny piece of leather missing from top corner. Front hinge cracked and reinforced with cloth hinge tape. Coloured title page loose. No inscriptions. Pages and Plates in very good, clean condition. Heavy Volume, weighs over 5 Kilos so Shipping outside UK will be extra.
