Brossura. Condizione: ottimo. Condizione sovraccoperta: quasi ottimo. prima edizione. Lui no, non solo. Johnny vede oltre le sale da ballo, gira per i locali d'America, reinterpreta gli standard, cerca gli assoli, va verso il be bop senza saperlo e compone, compone. 1st edition. 389pp. Author's first book; with a complimentary card from the publisher, and stamp to the from pastedown. This wild stomp through the programmed incoherence which is youthful America (the 1960s and the author is nineteen and a college student and the simultaneous paperback would suggest campus camp-followers) pursues several favorite modern themes. Among them: the mystical nature of time--past, present and future repeating themselves backwards and forwards. NOTE that several passages and pages throughout the book are X-ed out; but this is the way the book was printed. Hardcover in price-clipped dust jacket. Light shelfwear; light wear and a few closed tears to the dust jacket. Very Good.…

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good+. Good dj. First Edition. [good solid book with minor shelfwear; jacket is lightly soiled and a bit age-toned, and has been nibbled just a bit along the bottom edge by some insect]. The author's first novel, written when he was 19, which "describes the quest of an existential Candide, searching vainly for a search worth searching for, trapped by the paradox that destroys the distinction between freedom and restriction, acceptance and rejection, affirmation and despair." (You know -- the Sixties.) Given its current scarcity in the marketplace, I suspect this book -- described by one online critic/appreciator as "an erudite, strange, entertaining and love-filled novel from an extremely intelligent [then-] young man who has since felt no need to return to this sort of thing" -- enjoys a bit of a cult following, probably not unrelated to the author's known affinity for the work of Thomas Pynchon. Rauch, under his full name of Earl Mac Rauch, went on to write a handful of notable movies, including Martin Scorsese's NEW YORK, NEW YORK and the 1984 sci-fi oddity THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI (which has a very definite cult following, and in fact traces its origins to the friendship between Rauch and the film's director-producer W.D. Richter, which began with the latter's discovery of this very novel) . NOTE that several passages and pages throughout the book are X-ed out -- but this is the way the book was printed. Illustrated by (dj design) Alex Gotfryd (illustratore).…

Original 159 page shooting script, dated April 14, 1976, for the film New York, New York written by Earl Mac Rauch, directed by Martin Scorsese, starring Liza Minnelli, Robert De Niro, Lionel Stander, Barry Primus, and Mary Kay Place. Bradbound. Very good plus copy with a touch of handling to the covers and very minor dampstaining and rippling to the top edge of the rear cover and final few pages. New York, New York tells the story of an ambitious saxophonist (De Niro) and a young singer (Minnelli) who fall in love and struggle to find balance between romance and their careers. The film was nominated for 4 Golden Globes: Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical, Best Actress - Comedy or Musical (Minnelli), Best Actor - Comedy or Musical (De Niro), and Best Original Song.…
