Two vols. bound in one thick quarto volume, in full contemporary leather with gilted ornaments. 930 pp. (Portrait at page 399 missing).The binding remains structurally sound, though it shows significant wear. There is notable damage and cracking along the spine/joints, with some leather loss, though the boards remain attached. Corners bumped and rubbed. The internal text block is generally clean, tight, and well-preserved with occasional light foxing or toning consistent with age. There is moisture staining affecting a number of pages at the rear of the volume. This dampstaining has caused some damage to the margins of these final leaves; however, the text remains unaffected and fully legible throughout.
