Paperback. Condizione: Used; Good. The object of these books is not to supply a list of th main roads of England, and the places which happen to be near them, but to explore the countryside, and describe the places of interest and beauty to be found there is you know where to look for them. A special chapter is devoted to our many-sided national life, which has grown out of th counties in the course of the thousand years of their existence. There is a complete index in which each place is given its map reference in brackets indicating the square in which the name can be found on the large folding map reproduced in colour. This wonderful guide, also contains vintage photography throughout! A must have for any cartophile's library!
