This book published (some for the first time) Joyce's then little-known essays and critical writings dating from an essay written when he was 14 to a 1937 manifesto in French on the "Moral Right of Authors".

Issued by The Viking Press, Inc. Book in good condition. It shows cover wear and rubbing, with a small closed tear to the top of the front cover. There is a bookseller's price sticker to the bottom of the back cover. The name "Edward W Said" is written to the front endpaper, believed to be the Palestinian and American academic, literary critic and political activist. The book has some ageing to the page edges. It has a few closed tears and small losses to the top of the spine and other extremities. The dust jacket is now encased in a removable plastic sleeve.
