[iii], 206pp. This volume contains the names of all persons received as Apprentices to a merchant or craftsman, with their duty and dates at which the indentiture was booked. It covers the period 1583 to 1666, with the absence of entries between certain dates, viz. "10 April 1639 - Na consel all this time in respect of the trubells and in respect of the King's Schippis layand in the road of Leyth, who come here upon the day of April last." also "21 January 1646 - Na Court at this time since the 25 day of June last, in respect of the great infection of the seikness of the plague and pestilence." The book is bound in contemporary marbled paper covered boards with a vellum spine and gold titling on a leather label. The case of the book is in very good condition with some expected shelf wear and light soiling on the boards. The top of the spine is bumped. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription.
