Slight age-toning to the end-papers as usual, else tight, square, firm and fine in fresh black linen with gilt embossed titles to the spine; in an about very good price-clipped and rubbed dust jacket with a two-inch slightly crimped tear to the upper front spine fold, a half-inch creased tear to the upper front panel's edge, and some small shelf-edge chips to the rear panel that also shows a mild light-tan stain to it's upper rear portion. No marks. Octavo; 174 pages; chronology; notes; bibliography; plus two pages of ads to the rear. The dust jacket will be placed in a clear, removable protective sleeve after scanning for this entry.

The manuscript is remarkable for a number of reasons. It includes the many thousands of words, all legible, deleted by Lawrence's editor, Edward Garnett; Lawrence's own deletions, entirely legible; and, most interestingly, the many passages of Lawrence's rewriting, in which both the deleted words and the new words are almost always entirely legible. . . .
