White (1931-2015), the University of Memphis professor of history and authority on Indian-Military conflicts on the Southern Plains (retired emeritus in 1989), to Charles A. Bobbitt, a local historian who served as the president of the West Tennessee Historical Society (Memphis) from 1971 to 1976. ''To Charles A.
