Very good condition for its age. Red cloth with Modern Library logo embossed on the cover. Minor cloth tear on lower right edge. Back cover slightly separated, see last photo. Previous owner name penciled on the fore edge.

The red boards show a little wear at the spine tips and the top back edge. The hinges and the spine are very good. 494 pages. Light pencil underling on some pages. Not a lot considering it is a 500 page book.

Dust jacket, enclosed in protective mylar (mylar not pictured), is in Fair conditon, having been price-clipped, and with rubbing/scuffing to jacket cover surface, and chipping to edges; there are some small tears near jacket spine top, and at bottom of back jacket there is another tear with a piece missing (former owner attempted repair on various tears with magic tape). Book has only one illustration, a frontispiece featuring a b&w reproduction of a painting of Kierkegaard. Edited by Robert Bretall. Text translated into English.
