Texts for Books I and II and for the Mutability Cantos are based on copies of the first editions in the Alderman Library at the University of Virginia; the minor poems are based on microfilm copies in the Folger Shakespeare Library and the Huntington Library. With a few illustrations. Edmund Spenser was an English poet best known for The Faerie Queene, an epic poem and fantastical allegory celebrating the Tudor dynasty and Elizabeth I. He is recognized as one of the premier craftsmen of nascent Modern English verse, and is often considered one of the greatest poets in the English language. Cover is a bit faded; interior is very good. Book.
