Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Very first book in the 4-volume Airplane Girl series, written by a woman ( Edith Janice Craine) under a male pseudonym. Just two years after Amelia Earhart made news for being the first female passenger to cross the Atlantic in a plane, & 2 years before she would pilot her own plane in the first transatlantic flight by a woman, this series introduced Roberta Langwell, a "modern young aviatrix who knows no fear," designed to inspire girls ages 10-16. A FIRST EDITION, unknown printing, from 1930, this 12mo has green cloth-covered boards ruled & lettered in black to front & spine. Condition is Good: very clean, binding strong & straight, hinges secure, front one starting. Pages heavily tanned, particularly around edges, commensurate with age; completely unmarked save for former owner's name in neat pen to ffep. Moderate rubbing & bumping to extremities.
