Red paper covers; rear cover fractionally misaligned with text block contributing to some slight wear along bottom edge and bumping/creasing at bottom fore-edge corner. Slight foxing to edges; some foxing to first and last leaves; past owner's name in ink at front free endpaper's top right corner; occasional light foxing to interior pages which are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Else a very good copy. With b/w frontispiece portrait photo of author Judge T. Whitfield Davidson (1876-1974), Introduction on page v by the author, two b/w plates on pages vi-vii, brief essay "Editor's Remarks" on pages viii-ix by H. Key, Jr. Features anecdotal stories by Judge Davidson who city attorney for Marshall, Texas from 1907-1914, a Texas state senator from 1920-1922, lieutenant governor from 1923-1925, general counsel for Dallas fraternal insurance company Praetorian Order from 1927-1936, and United States district judge for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas from 1936 until his retirement in 1965. No publication date is specified but Key's "Editor's Remarks" is dated for September 30, 1969 which implies publication likely occurred that same year.
