Inspired by the inclusiveness of a phone book, Maureen Owen created the magazine to embrace a wide range of poets, although leaning towards the avant-garde and experimental. This issue with contributions from several poets associated with the LANGUAGE movement. Includes work by Rae Armantrout, Bernadette Mayer, Bruce Andrews, Charles Bernstein, Ted Greenwald and others. GOOD+ condition. Moderate uneven toning to the front cover. Minor foxing to the covers. Light scuffing, curling and creasing along the edges.

She began publishing Telephone from St. Marks in 1969 as part of the Mimeo Revolution of which Anne Waldman, Judson Crews and Alice Notely of "Chicago" were major figures.
