One of the most prestigious contemporary art awards, the Marcel Duchamp Prize was created in 2000 by the ADIAF, Association for the international diffusion of French art which groups together 400 contemporary art collectors rallied around the French scene. Its ambition is to bring together the most innovative artists and help them raise their international profile. Each year, the Marcel Duchamp Prize is awarded to one of four artists, either French or living in France, all of them working in the field of the plastic and visual arts. Since the outset, this collectors' prize benefits from a close partnership with the Centre Pompidou who invites the four nominated artists for a 3-month group show in its Galerie 4. The winner is chosen by an international jury of collectors and directors of leading institutions.Text in English and French.

Hardcover. Condizione: new. Hardcover. Charles Zublena (1910-1979), of Italian origin, began his training as a cabinetmaker at a very young age, which he supplemented with courses in drawing and furniture history. He emigrated to France in 1930 and opened his first studio in Paris, where he designed, conceived, and created his own creations, which he exhibited around 1950 at the Musee Galliera. In the 1960s, he was invited by leading designers (Maxime Old and Joseph Andre Motte) to join the Societe des Artistes Decorateurs (SAD) and its steering committee. He presented his creations at numerous international exhibitions in Paris, Brussels, and Turin. Starting with a wooden chaise longue, noted for its design by ministers Andre Malraux and Eugene Claudius-Petit, he created the famous Eurolax 1 plastic chair, which would become a staple on many beaches in France and abroad. In the late sixties, he was invited by the Boule School and the School of Applied Arts to give classes to future cabinetmakers and designers. Alongside his creative work, he won the title of Meilleur ouvrier de France in 1976 and 1979 and was made a Knight of the National Order of Merit.Text in English and French. Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. The volume is dedicated to the project of the artist Linda Fregni Nagler concerning a series of Japanese photographs of the Yokohama school (Yokohama Shashin), which have as their subject flower sellers (hanauri), a highly appreciated category of street vendors in Japan during the Edo and Meiji periods. The photographs, dating back to the mid-nineteenth century and collected over a period of 20 years by Linda Fregni Nagler, are accompanied by some works by the artist herself who rephotographed the original albums, printing them in the darkroom and colouring them by hand with a technique similar to that of the period (1860-1910).This intervention gives new meaning to the images, illustrating the history of a specific way of looking at exoticism and otherness. The floral and vegetal theme finds further declination in the precious kesa fabrics of the MAO collection, in the Kimonos, in the lacquers and in the woodcuts presented in these pages.Texts by: Anna Musini, Francesca Filisetti, Cristina Baldacci, Linda Fregni Nagler, Manuela Moscatiello, Roberta Vergagni.Text in English and Italian. The volume is dedicated to the project of the artist Linda Fregni Nagler concerning a series of Japanese photographs of the Yokohama school (Yokohama Shashin), and accompanied an exhibition at MAO Museum of Oriental Art, Italy from 4 December 2024 - 4 May 2025. Hardcover. Condizione: new. Hardcover. The Musee international de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge owns a unique collection of posters from around the world. From the beginning of its history, the Humanitarian Movement uses this support to spread its messages and values. For the presentation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, the recruitment of volunteers, the request for donations, the call for blood donation, the promotion of hygiene rules, the prevention of diseases or disasters, the dangers of mines or the teaching of first aid, posters challenge the public, inform and try to rally to the humanitarian cause.More than a means of communication, they are also witnesses of an era capturing the events that are shaking the world and the concerns of the regions in which they appear. Mirrors of society, the posters carry with them the history of the Movement, its actions, its necessity and, even more, its universality. The colourful posters of the Red Cross are more than a means of communication; they carry with them the history of the movement Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
