Classic review of notable structures in South Carolina's coastal lowcountry region, the first edition of which was published in 1938. Features b/w photographic plates by Charles Richard Banks, Ben Judah Lubschez (1881-1963), and the remarkable Frances Benjamin Johnston (1864-1952) whose magnificent images complete similar architectural monographs regarding North Carolina and Tidewater Virginia. The Danish Chess Championship was organized by the Danish Chess Union (DSU) and first held in 1910. A masterclass was first introduced in 1915. But it is only from 1922 that the title of Danish chess champion was introduced, this was the first year also players from Copenhagen joined. The Master Class for 1916 was contested by 8 players. It was won b P F Johner with a score of 5 and tied two through 4 by M Marchand, O. von Lowenborg and H Krause. 5th place was claimed by O Sevensson with 3 points. 6th place was a tie between Johs Giersing and G Nyholm. The last place was regulated to E Jacobson with 1 1/2. Condition: Corners creased, spine and edges sunned, pages still unread else a vary good copy.
