A good copy overall, BUT vellum backstrip chipped away except for 1' piece held on by clear tape; edges of boards moderately worn and rubbed through at fore-corner tips; text paper clean and moderately yellowed with light foxing to endpapers. Controversial work, in the form of a diary, purported to have been written by Charles I in the months preceding his execution in 1646 and first published after his death.
