Includes 14 p. pamphlet, at end…: "Directions for preserving the health of soldiers" by Benjamin Rush. Cutbush, served as an American naval medical officer from 1799 until 1828. He was a naval (and army) surgeon. He later was one of the founders of the Geneva Medical College. He was an ardent advocate of the naval hospital and of the efficient organization of the Medical Dept. Many of his recommendations were adopted long after his term of service. The section on hospitals and their internal arrangement reveals a thoroughly practical mind and an intelligent appreciation of the benefits of proper ventilation. Dr. Roddis the 15th President of the American Nuclear Society, he worked in the Manhattan Project (later the Oak Ridge National Laboratory), and was responsible for the first major nuclear power plant in the U.S. at Shippingport, Pennsylvania.
