Original cloth, rebacked. Internally very good. 336 pp. Manuscript ownership signature dated June (though possibly January?) 5, 1862. There is no indication of an edition number, though the front board reads "Revised Edition." Earlier Hodges Safe-guards were identified as quarterly publications. 1862 is a very late date for this… sort of counterfeit detector, as the National Banking Act of 1863 made paper money issued by individual banks effectively obsolete and counterfeit detectors like this anachronisms. Includes notes from banks in Confederate states. It is quite unusual to see counterfeit detectors like this complete, as pages were often removed or cut to facilitate comparison of notes for local banks. See Dilistin, pages 105 & 148 for further description.
