The dust jacket shows light edgewear and there is a long, closed tear along the front DJ flap (No Chips). I have placed the DJ in a fresh mylar jacket and this book looks and feels great! Beautifully done history of the New York Central's Hudson class locomotives. The authors document the Hudson's predecessors, the development of the Hudson, its use on the NYC for three decades, and the rolling stock it pulled so that the reader receives a full understanding of the beauty and power of these locomotives. Attention is also paid to the men who ran them, such as Bob E. Butterfield, engineer of the Twentieth Century Limited, and the book has reproduced some of their memories. It even has a chapter on the model trains and toys that were based on the Hudsons. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos plus several pages of color illustrations, many showing the Hudsons on NYC calendars done by noted railroad artist Grif Teller.
