Esteban Vicente Pà rez (1903-2001), was an American painter born in Turà gano, Spain. He was one of the first generation of New York School abstract expressionists. His periods of work covered: Washington Color School, Abstract Expressionism, Expressionism. He is best known for his Abstract Expressionist paintings and collages that seem to pulsate with light. A lesser-known member of the fabled Cedar Tavern crowd that included Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. Vicente made paintings of jagged geometric shapes that seem to hover on the surface of his canvases. For Vicente, color captured a sense of place, and in his later years the gardens surrounding his Bridgehampton, Long Island, home inspired his use of vivid color and organic shapes. This book has 32 glossy pages of his works with vellum pages in-between each page Very good. Light shelfwear, No ownership marks.
