He was a Danish-Norwegian missionary and scholar…who at a young age moved to Greenland with his family. His father Hans Poulsen Egede, known as the Apostle of Greenland, started the missionary work in Greenland in 1721. Paul continued his father's work as a missionary among the Kalaallit people (Inuits). Bibliographia Groenlandica p. 38, no. 70.
