Ergebnisse eines Deutsch-Französischen Interdisziplinären Kolloquiums, das am 10. und 11. Oktober 1997 in Saarbrücken und Metz von der Association musicale d'études franco-allemandes (AMEFA) organisiert wurde. Das Ziel war es, zunächst die Interaktionen zwischen dem Dirigenten Karl Ristenpart, dem von ihm 1953 gegründeten Saarländischen Kammerorchester sowie den Rundfunk- und Schallplattenindustrien darzustellen. Danach wurde versucht, den Einfluß dieser Interaktionen auf Repertoire, Produktion und Rezeption zu ergründen. Um dieses vielfältige Vorhaben zu verwirklichen, wurden Vorträge gegeben und Gesprächsrunden geführt, unter anderem von und mit Zeitzeugen der betroffenen Produktion (darunter Orchestermusiker, Solisten, Tonmeister und Produzenten).
