The main goal of this book is to provide new phonetic data of the prosodic structure of Erzya, often referred to as Erzya Mordvin spoken in a broad area of Central Russia. The research is carried out as a collaborative undertaking of Estonian linguists with various theoretical backgrounds. The book consists of four chapters. The introduction formulates starting points of the study. The second chapter constitutes a survey of previous research on Erzya phonology. The third, largest chapter contains the acoustic analysis of Erzya prosody. The last chapter of the book is a summary of the main results of the research. The primary data are presented in the Appendix.
