Con questo evento espositivo la Chiesa di Padova intende ricordare lo scultore veneto Antonio Canova, artista di fama mondiale e indiscusso protagonista dell'arte a cavallo tra la fine del Settecento e l'inizio dell'Ottocento. Vengono proposti due marmi che si pensavano perduti: la Stele funeraria del principe Guglielmo d'Orange Nassau e il Vaso cinerario di Louise von Callenberg, due marmi straordinari e unici nel loro genere. Grazie alle ricerche di Elena Catra e Vittorio Pajusco è stato possibile rintracciare quello che rimaneva del Monumento sepolcrale Callenberg alla chiesa degli Eremitani, in particolare il vaso. Il progetto ebbe poi uno sviluppo, includendo una preziosa ma poco conosciuta testimonianza: il medagliere che il fratello di Antonio, Giovanni Battista Sartori donò al Seminario nel 1837 che, oltre a parlare di una passione specialistica da parte del donatore, costituisce un prezioso materiale di studio per le monete come fonte di ispirazione per Canova.
