Der regionale Bezug zeigt sich auch im Entstehungsgebiet der Handschriften: Viele sind im Bereich der Diözese Augsburg oder der benachbarten Diözese Konstanz geschrieben worden. Im Bereich der lateinischen Handschriften überwiegt juristisches Schrifttum; zahlreich sind auch die liturgischen Handschriften. Bei den deutschen Handschriften überwiegt theologisch-katechetisches Schrifttum und Erbauungsliteratur. Bedeutend sind die Fragmente, von denen 13 aus dem 8. und 9. Jahrhundert stammen.
