Byron's separate works are listed in the chronological order of their appearance. After the later editions of these works come books closely associated with them, also in chronologic…al order - e.g. following Childe Harold and Don Juan there are lists of continuations, imitations, criticisms, and defences of these poems. Finally there are the translations, in alphabetical order of the languages into which they were made. In a very few cases we have departed from the chronological order for the purpose of grouping together books by the same author or for other reasons. We have taken care not to describe books published in foreign countries as first editions unless we have conclusive evidence that they are, and many books which we have classed as "probably" or " possibly" first editions are almost certainly principes. America presents the greatest difficulty for determining the first editions of Byron's separate works. Editions of some of them were published in New York, Boston, and Philadelphia in the same year." Spine reinforced with old tape, manuscript spine-title, wrappers edgeworn with some loss. Several corners dog-eared, one or two ink annotations.
