The author analyzed food samples from two very different family backgrounds, one of a professor and the other of a mechanic. This study joins a larger series that sought to characterize nutrition across various regions, social classes, and occupations around the United States at that time. The results of these studies can help us better understand the dietary challenges people faced in the context of a developing society and economy, whether that be nutritional deficiencies or economic limitations. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
