"Mabel Louise Robinson (July 19, 1874 February 21, 1962) was an American writer of children's books. She was passionate about writing books for young adults. Her "primary goal in life [was to] write books for young women, showcasing the protagonists worth, intelligence, and sensitivity". Robinson reached her goal by "bring[ing] realistic and believable young adult problems to modern girl readers looking not only for excitement and fun but for honestly and reality as well. Additionally, [she] created vivid characters with whom girls could easily identify ". Robinson was a runner-up for the annual Newbery Medal twice. " (from Wikipedia).

Beaumont, a contemporary of Herbert, Donne, and Crashaw, skillfully employs literary devices and spiritual themes to craft introspective and thought-provoking verse. The poems grapple with the complexities of devotion, mortality, and the nature of love, showcasing the author's remarkable command of language and poetic form. Through Beaumont's introspective musings, readers gain insights into the spiritual and emotional landscapes of the 17th century, making this collection a valuable contribution to the study of metaphysical poetry and the literary history of the period. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
