This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -All living species of fishes existing in the world at present, a wide variety of patterns of reproduction present as follow, uni-sexuality, bisexuality, hermaphroditism and parthenogenesis. Like other vertebrates, the fishes usually reproduce sexually and in a quite large number of them, spermatozoa and eggs are formed in separate individuals and the gametes are expelled in the water where fertilisation occur. To increase and standardise an efficient hatchery system for producing the young fish of good quality insufficient numbers of a given species, it is essential to know the details of its natural breeding. It involves the study of sexuality of a given fish, sexual dimorphism, reproductive cycle, time, season and place of reproduction. Also, fecundity, spawning pattern, parental care and larval life history. Reproductive physiology of fish (RPF) is a vast scientific field, which directly concerns a set of physiological processes essential for reproduction, beginning with egg fertilisation and ending with sexual behaviour and spawning. Processes include gonad differentiation, puberty, male and female gametogenesi, timing of reproductive cycles. 140 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The cells that make up the bodies of all but the simplest multicellular animals, both aquatic and terrestrial, exist in an 'internal sea' of extracellular fluid (ECF) enclosed within the integument of the animal. From this fluid, the cells take up O2 and nutrients; into it, they discharge metabolic waste products. The ECF is more dilute than present-day seawater, but its composition closely resembles that of the primordial oceans in which, presumably, all life originated. In animals with a closed vascular system, the ECF is divided into two components: the interstitial fluid and the circulating blood plasma. The plasma and the cellular elements of the blood, principally red blood cells, fill the vascular system, and together they constitute the total blood volume. The interstitial fluid is that part of the ECF that is outside the vascular system, bathing the cells. The special fluids considered together as transcellular fluids are discussed in the following text. About a third of the total body water is extracellular; the remaining two thirds is intracellular (intracellular fluid). 292 pp. Englisch.…

Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. A few fishes breed only once in their long life spawn eg. Pacific salmon . The fresh water eel breeds only once in 10-14 years . Most of the fishes breed in one season every year, they are called seasonal breeders, but some breed in all seasons, through out the year, and they are called year round spawners . - Seasonal breeders exhibit rhythmic changes in the structure and physiology of ovary and testes in different seasons. These changes are demarcated into five phases - 1. Resting phase (December - January) 2. Preparatory phase(February - April) 3. Maturing phase (may - June) 4. Spawning phase (July - September) 5. Post spawning phase(October - November) GONADOSOMATIC INDEX (GSI) - It is a ratio between body weight and the weight of gonad showing the status of ovary and testis in terms of maturity and denotes the phase of the reproductive cycle- GSI = Weight of the gonad 100 Weight of fish-weight of the gonad - GSI of fish increases with the maturation of the fish i.e. lowest during post spawning phase and highest at the peak of maturity i.e. spawning phase.FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE ORGAN - Unlike mammals, the female reproductive system of teleosts. Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. 152 pp. Spanisch.…

Processes include gonad differentiation, puberty, male and female gametogenesi, timing of reproductive cycles.VDM Verlag, Dudweiler Landstraße 99, 66123 Saarbrücken 140 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - A few fishes breed only once in their long life spawn eg. Pacific salmon . The fresh water eel breeds only once in 10-14 years . Most of the fishes breed in one season every year , they are called seasonal breeders , but some breed in all seasons, through out the year , and they are called year round spawners . Post spawning phase(October - November) GONADOSOMATIC INDEX (GSI) - It is a ratio between body weight and the weight of gonad showing the status of ovary and testis in terms of maturity and denotes the phase of the reproductive cycle- GSI = Weight of the gonad × 100 Weight of fish-weight of the gonad - GSI of fish increases with the maturation of the fish i.e. lowest during post spawning phase and highest at the peak of maturity i.e. spawning phase.FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE ORGAN - Unlike mammals , the female reproductive system of teleosts.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - Print on Demand Titel. Neuware -The cells that make up the bodies of all but the simplest multicellular animals, both aquatic and terrestrial, exist in an 'internal sea' of extracellular fluid (ECF) enclosed within the integument of the animal. About a third of the total body water is extracellular; the remaining two thirds is intracellular (intracellular fluid).VDM Verlag, Dudweiler Landstraße 99, 66123 Saarbrücken 292 pp. Englisch.…
