Dear Emily May Dilkins, I don't know where you rest or where you spent your life, but Emily my dear, may I thank you for producing such an amusing scrapbook. It was in a very sorry state when I bought it at auction, for it must have been neglected in somebody's attic for about a hundred years, but you will be pleased to know I have polished the leather cover and returned the loose pages as best I can. You obviously must have spent hours cutting out the scraps which appealed to you and paasting them on the pageas so lovingly. It really has given me many hours of interest and enjoyment, and I hope you will not mind the fact that I have reproduced it so that many more people can have the pleasure of leafing through the pages. I know hardly anything about you personally, other than the fact that you went to the Isle of Wight for a holiday and fell in love with a handsome young man called Jumbo, but it is plain you had a superb sense of humour. I do hope everthing in your life turned out well, love, and that all your hopes annd aspiration were achieved. Thanks once again. Rest peacefully. Tony Curtis. Illustrations throughout.
