Mbolela, 1973 in Mbuji-Mayi geboren, studierte in seiner Heimatstadt Okonomie. Politische Verfolgung fuhrte dazu, dass er 2002 das Land verlassen musste. Seit 2008 lebt er in den Niederlanden, wo er als Vortragender und antirassistischer Aktivist tatig ist. Der Ubersetzer Dieter Alexander Behr lebt in Wien und arbeitet mit Mbolela im Netzwerk Afrique Europe Interact zusammen.
