This research work has publicized the significance of proper landscape design and installation as well as consistent maintenance of landscape elements especially the structural elements like fountains, driveways and the soft landscape elements as lawn, grass and trees. This was done by specifically assessing selected central business district in Akure, thus, recommending sustainable solutions to environmental problems that can be implemented at design, planning, execution and post construction stages of construction.

Una mala gestión del paisaje conduce a la privación de la calidad del medio ambiente y, en consecuencia, a un desarrollo humano indigente. Este trabajo de investigación ha dado a conocer la importancia de un diseño e instalación adecuados del paisaje, así como de un mantenimiento constante de los elementos del paisaje, especialmente de los elementos estructurales, como fuentes y calzadas, y de los elementos blandos del paisaje, como el césped y los árboles. Para ello, se ha evaluado específicamente un distrito comercial central seleccionado en Akure, recomendando así soluciones sostenibles a los problemas medioambientales que pueden aplicarse en las fases de diseño, planificación, ejecución y post-construcción.

Es ist von großer Bedeutung, dass grüne und strukturelle Elemente berücksichtigt werden, um die klimatischen Bedingungen einer Umgebung zu regulieren. Ein schlechtes Landschaftsmanagement führt zu einem Verlust an Umweltqualität und damit zu einer Beeinträchtigung der menschlichen Entwicklung. Diese Forschungsarbeit hat die Bedeutung einer ordnungsgemäßen Landschaftsgestaltung und -installation sowie einer konsequenten Pflege von Landschaftselementen, insbesondere der Strukturelemente wie Brunnen, Einfahrten und der weichen Landschaftselemente wie Rasen, Gras und Bäume, herausgestellt.
