Durch Stromstärkemessung am Ductus thoracius ließ sich des weiteren zeigen, daß die Geschwindigkeit der Lymphströmung normalerweise relativ klein ist und stark von dem Ausmaß der Filtration von Plasmaflüssigkeit in das Gewebe abhängt. Auch die filtrierende Funktion der Lymphknoten, die Rolle der Lymphgefäßklappen, des Zwerchfells und allgemein der "Muskelpumpen" für den Lymphtransport wurden durch die am Leipziger Institut ausgeführten Arbeiten näher erforscht."
