Mount window 140 x 200 mm. Frame overall 255 x 315 mm. James Renwick being led to execution in the Grassmarket in 1688. Renwick was the last Covenanter to be marty…red before the accession of William II secured Presbyterianism in Scotland in 1689. (Despite the accepted title of the painting, note that only one prisoner is shown.) 25.5 x 31.5 cm.
