Leather. Condizione: Fair. No Jacket. This copy has quite a bit of corner and edge wear. Very little board showing, mostly upper front corner. Light colored leather is worn and rubbing. Heavy blind embossing and decoration of boards. Both the head and foot of the spine covering is missing, about 1 inch from the top and 3/4 inch…from the bottom. Numerous signatures have shifted, but remain tight in binding. Hand-marbled endpapers have solid gutters, very small booksellers stamp upper front paste-down. Neatly inked property mark verso of fep, dated 1857. Frontis-portrait engraving and title page have faint lines, possible scrbble removal? Remaining text has yellowed with age and there is some foxing. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
