BOOKS SHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WRAPPED IN PADDING, IN A BOX. "Dutch photographer Erik van der Weijde takes several Brazilian women as his subjects in this bold series of portraits. Each is portrayed in black and white, and most look directly into the camera lens smiling, challenging, alluring. Whether outdoors or in, sleeping or sunbathing, the candid and endearing shots undoubtedly give rise to many questions. Who are these women? Why does one appear far more than the others? What is their relationship with the photographer? The series speaks as much from its ambiguity as from the intimate moments it captures." Unpaginated [112 pages]; ca. 100 b&w plates; 7.25 x 9.75 inches. Also known as: Rollo No. 24.…

Soft cover. Condizione: New. Softcover, 32 pgs. Text in English. In Lithium Erik van der Weijde once again turns the camera on his son, who is now a teenager. The photographs were taken between 2018 and 2019, capturing a pivotal time in their lives and relationship. The series is partly set in Brazil, his sons home country, during their last year together there, and also partly in their first year after moving to Europe. It is clear that transitions and the gap between expectations and reality left their mark on this period.…

Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. In the last ten years, the Dutch photographer Erik van der Weijde has been responsible for over fifty publications: these include not only slim photozines and simply produced brochures but also voluminous cloth-bound books -- many of them distributed via his own publishing house 4478ZINE. This Is Not My Book provides for the first time an overview of his work, which constitutes one of the most important artistic positions at the interface between photography and independent publishing. The book uses large-format representations to show the lines of connection between he individual publications. It also contains van der Weijde's 4478ZINE publishing manifesto and other texts as well as ve conversations with the publishers Anne Koenig and Jan Wenzel. This Is Not My Book indicates a full stop, an act of punctuation set down by the author with his published work. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…
