Novella by the German author, screen and audio-play author Hans Kyser, war reporter and author of the first German "Talkie" Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzern (The Girl with the Matchsticks). Kyser directed a Luther biography and was head dramaturge at the German movie production firm Bavaria Film. The ten sensuous etchings, illustrating the stage performance of a dancer, are by Ernst Oppler, a German impressionist painter and etcher. After studying at the Academy of Arts in Munich he went to England to study Whistler and then the Netherlands to practice the pleinair method. Back in Munich he joined the Munich Secession and, on invitation of Max Liebermann, moved to Berlin and joined the Berlin Secession. He became an important chronicler of the history of ballet in Germany. The numbers I-XXV and 1-100 are printed by hand and signed by the artist. This is number 36. Text in German.
