This finely bound set comprises the 2 volumes on the s…port of yachting, published as part of the larger Badminton Library of Sports and Pastimes series. Assembled by a large team of contributors and editors, the set is profusely illustrated throughout with countless b/w reproductions after original artwork and original photographs. Additionally there are as wells as all manner other illustrated figures of a technical nature, and detailed sailing maps (some in color). Bindings with some light to moderate rubbing to extremities, including some on the hinges and bands of the spine. Starting at the gutters of the interior covers of vol.1. Book blocks with varying degrees of soiling and water damage throughout, including some rippling and foxing. Book block tight overall. Bindings in good+, interiors in good- condition overall.

A collection of short stories and verse for children, illustrated throughout with numerous engraved full-page b/w images. No authors or illustrators are credited…, although many of the engraved images contain artists initials in the frame. These include images by Henry Fitzcook (b.1824), J. Gadsby (John Gadsby, 1808-1889?), B. Fleming (Benjamin Fleming), T. Cobb, A. T. Elwes (Alfred Thomas Elwes, 1841-1917) and many others. Publisher's advertisements on the back cover. The publication date is not given, but based on the back cover, it seems to have been published some time around 1883. Binding with light rubbing to extremities. A few light scratches to the front cover, otherwise still quite clean an vibrant. back cover with a small stain near the top edge. Interior extremely clean save for a few instances of the most minor smudges to the margins of a few pages. Book block tight. Binding in very good, interior in near fine condition overall. Protected in modern mylar. Quite scarce.

This scarce special issue of the American satire and humor weekly magazine Judge, is devoted to the topic of Albert Einstein. Most of the humor here pokes fun at the acclaimed physicist and h…is work. It should be noted that their are multiple illustrations in this issue by 'Dr. Seuss' (Theodor Geisel, 1904-1991) the famed children's author and illustrator, who began his career at the magazine in 1927. Profusely illustrated throughout but a number of different artists and cartoonist, and with period advertisements. Wrappers with minor stains to the covers, and some tears along edges. Book block loosening from wrappers but still attached. Interior with images and pages clean throughout, with a few pages lightly creased in the corners. Wrappers in good-, interior in very good condition overall.
